Wednesday was the deadline for all noncitizens in the Dominican Republic
to apply for residency, or face expulsion. The deadline applied to
foreign-born migrant workers and residents born in the Dominican
Republic who have no documentation since being stripped of their
Dominican citizenships by a 2013 court decision.
